Synthetic data generation for medical education Workshop
At the SECURED EU project‘s workshop on Synthetic Data Generation for Medical Education held on October 2–3, 2024, at Budapest, we showcased advanced methods for generating synthetic image data in cardiotocography (CTG), mammography, chest X-rays, and skull (brain) MRI imaging. Participants also engaged in hands-on demonstrations, exploring synthetic data generation tools and offering direct feedback to developers.
SECURED Privacy Preservation Tutorial in 6th CPS Summer School at Sardinia, Italy
SECURED project participated in the 6th CyberPhysical Systems (CPS) Summer School in Sardinia Italy (16-20 September 2024) with a specialized Tutorial on Privacy Preservation. In the tutorial, F. Regazzoni, P. Palmiery and A. Fournaris from UvA, UCC and ISI respectively demonstrated how secure computation techniques including homomorphic encryption can be adopted in constrained settings, and applied to CPSs and medical devices. Students were introduced to the basics of secure computation and practiced with state of the art libraries that are used also in SECURED, implementing the presented techniques.
SECURED Third Plenary Meeting
The 3rd Plenary meeting of SECURED project was held in Cork, Ireland, on June 17th-18th 2024. Partners discussed the progress in the project’s objectives, and planned the upcoming demonstration at the Budapest Workshop in October. We also finalized the process of the SECURED OPEN CALL, which will be announced soon!
SECURED project at the 29th IEEE European Test Symposium (ETS)
SECURED project was presented at the 29th IEEE European Test Symposium (ETS) by our partner University of Amsterdam, inspiring many attendees. The IEEE European Test Symposium is a significant event in the field of electronic testing, contributing to the advancement of test technology and providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and collaboration among professionals from around the world. ETS focuses on the development of secure and safe hardware that SECURED partners may use in the acceleration and scaling-up of medical machine learning (ML) applications.
SECURED project at DATE conference 2024
The SECURED concept and the latest developments in the project have been presented in the DATE 2024 Conference by the Project Coordinator prof. Francesco Regazzoni (UvA) at Valencia, Spain, 27 March 2024. Prof Regazzoni presentation provided a lot of insight on the SECURED activities and and several discussion on the Privacy Preserving Technologies adopted in the project were made. The open call was also introduced to the DATE'24 audience and although the SECURED open call hasn't aired yet, several companies already expressed interest to get involved. The SECURED work provided in the presentation has also been published in the proceedings of DATE'24 as a scientific paper with an author list from the whole SECURED consortium.
SECURED project at hiPEAC conference 2024
The work done in SECURED project regarding Fully Homomorphic Encryption was presented by prof. Paolo Palmieri (UCC partner) in hiPEAC conference 2024 on the tutorial entitled "Open Source Libraries and Components for Security " that took place in Munich on the 18th of January 2024. Prof Palmieri's presentation was greeted very favorably by the hiPEAC audience and very interesting discussions followed the presentation. FHE is gaining a lot of attention over time and scaling it to realistic computation time is important for the high performance computing research community.
SECURED Privacy Preservation Tutorial in 5th CPS Summer School at Sardinia, Italy
SECURED project has been invited and will participate in the 5th CyberPhysical Systems (CPS) Summer School in Sardinia Italy (18-22 September 2023) with a specialized Tutorial on Privacy Preservation. In the tutorial, F. Regazzoni, P. Palmiery and A. Fournaris from UvA, UCC and ISI respectively will demonstrate how secure computation techniques including homomorphic encryption can be adopted in constrained settings, and applied to CPSs and medical devices. Students will be introduced to the basic of secure computation and will practice with state of the art libraries used also in SECURED, implementing the presented techniques.
First END USER Workshop
The 1st Workshop with the SECURED project users/pilots was held in June 2023 along side the first plenary meeting of the project. The Workshop's goal was to discuss the various SECURED project use cases and extract information regarding the user requirements of the SECURED solution. Also, during the workshop, a lot of discussions were made on how to adapt the SECURED architecture to each of the use case partner requirements and respected use case.
First Project Plenary Meeting
As the project's work progresses the SECURED partners gathered on 13th-14th of June in Barcelona Super Computing Center Premises in Spain for the first Plenary meeting of the project. The Meeting's goal was to review the status of the project and to discuss the next steps. Key point of the meeting was the status on the open deliverables and especially the SECURED architecture, its innovations and its use by the SECURED pilots. There where many fruitful discussions between the SECURED partners and significant progress was made on the next steps to be followed in the project. Also the technical Work packages of the project were kick started and an initial plan on the research work to be done on these WPs was made.
Project Kick Off Meeting
The SECURED project started on January 2023 and a Successful Kick off meeting took place on the 25-26th of January in Amsterdam. The first action points for the project were discussed and the planning for the main project activities were sketched. The EU project officer was also present in the kick-off meeting and provided the consortium with valuable feedback on the Project's activities.
